Obituary


Albert Astakhov

International Amateur Sambo Federation announces with deep regret the death, on July 1st 2009, of Albert Astakhov, big Sambo enthusiast, Master of Sambo, Honored Sambo Coach of Russia. He was 71 years old.

All his life Albert Astakhov devoted himself to Sambo development. He was the very first samboist in Venezuela and today it is one of the leading Sambo countries on the American continent. He was at the cradle of Sambo development in South Korea. He made a big contribution in Sambo development at his native Krasnoyarsk Krai in Russia.

We will alwayd remember this name - Albert Astakhov.

He will be sadly missed by all who knew him.
