3rd Spartakiada Sambo Competition Among Children Foster Homes of Russia

On April 6, 2007 FIAS President David Rudman took part in 3rd Spartakiada Sambo Competition among children foster homes of Russia, which was held in Moscow, Russia.

Spartakiada was sponsored by Honored Master of Sambo, 5 times USSR Sambo Champion, Doctor of Science, Professor E.L. Gloriozov, who himself was a foster chlid in the foster home no.64 in Moscow. 300 kids from more than 30 foster homes took part in the Competition.

Girls and boys born in 1992/1993 and 1994/1995 participated in the Spartakiada in the followong weight categories: 28, 30, 32, 35, 38, 41, 45, 49, 53 and +57 kg.

At the press conference, David Rudman especially noted the role of Evgeniy Gloriozov in the popularization and developement of Sambo among children.

"Evgeniy Gloriozov has been working with foster homes for many years. In his first competition only 8 foster homes participated, in second one - 18, and now more than 30. We all admire his achievement and think that he is doing really great work both for Sambo and for all the kids involved in our sport", said FIAS President.

The winners in the Spartakiada are:

1. Team "Yakutia-3" (Yakutsk)
2. Team from Zubtzov town (Tvers region)
3. Team from Rybnoe village (Ryazan region)
