SAMBO Legend Fedor Emelianenko inducted into the "Champions for Peace" club

On October 26th-28th the V Annual International Forum "Peace and Sport" was held in Monaco.

The Organization uses sport as an instrument to achieve sustainable peace and harmony in various communities throughout the world. Its Founder and President Joel Bouzou is the Olympic medalist in modern pentathlon and adviser to His Serene Highness Prince of Monaco Albert II.

The "Peace and Sport" organization is well known throughout the world thanks to its numerous projects. One of them is the "Champions for Peace" club founded in 2009. The club unites 57 top athletes, both active and retired, from 33 nations. Sergey Bubka, Yelena Isinbayeva, Wilson Kipketer, Paula Radcliffe, Christian Karembeu, S?bastien Loeb, Blanka Vlasic and Novak Djokovic are among them. Within the framework of this project they contribute part of their time, their professional skills and authority to support projects at the service of peace and human and social development.

So, a remarkable event: on October 27th during the V Annual International Forum "Peace and Sport" nine more sport stars were inducted into the club.

Among them is Fedor Emelianenko, famous sambo wrestler, the face and the icon of SAMBO. Fedor is three-time World Champion in combat SAMBO, the person with whose name SAMBO is associated worldwide.

By achieving success in mixed martial arts he has proven the unique character and efficiency of SAMBO. It was the rich arsenal and diversity of techniques in this martial art that allow Fedor to win and present SAMBO worldwide.

His sports achievements are not the only reason to talk about Fedor. His appearance on the list of 66 famous athletes, who bring sport banner all over the world, is not a coincidence. For many his name represents the ideal image of an athlete - strong, honest and patriotic. Therefore for all fans of SAMBO Fedor's appearance on "Peace and Sport" stage is only logical.

By becoming a member of the prestigious "Champions for Peace" club Fedor has gained an opportunity to present SAMBO only at sports venues, but at world social stage as well.

The famous sambo wrestler will participate in one of the club's projects aimed at preservation of world peace.

"I am proud to have an honor to join "Champions for Peace" club," said the athlete. "SAMBO is the martial art that can bring harmony and trust into the world. It teaches us to defend ourselves and those close to us. I am convinced that through SAMBO we can transform the world, make it a better place".

And all of us, fans of SAMBO, are certain that this fact will help SAMBO to become more recognizable all over the world. The world that is created for peace.
